This step of the journey is full of lots of changes! You'll see your baby start to increase eating solids (sometimes preferring those over breastfeeding or bottles) , changing up their sleep cycles and starting to move! They will start to discover their world more with their mouth as well and this can often bring about some unintended breastfeeding pinches and pain. You may be thinking of weaning or wondering how it will look if you want to feed a toddler. You may be thinking of stopping pumping or stopping breastfeeding and continuing to pump.
- Starting and increasing solid foods
- Distracted or shorter feeds (why stop to feed when you're learning to crawl?!)
- Change in sleep patterns due to baby moving into own, parent returning to work, normal developmental changes
- Possibly weaning, or maybe continuing?
- Possibly preferring bottles to breast
- Unintended biting at the breast
- and so much more!
